The activities of the preparatory meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Arab countries began in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in preparation for launching the activities of the 32nd Arab summit next Friday. The delegation of the Republic of Sudan to the summit is led by Ambassador Dafallah Al-Haj Ali, the envoy of the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, where he held and the delegation accompanying him several sideline meetings with the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul-Gheit and a group of foreign ministers of the brotherly Arab countries, through which he explained the facts of the rebellion Rapid Support (RSF) Militia against the Sudanese Armed Forces and its attacks on civilians, diplomatic missions and health institutions.
At the beginning of the session, the presidency of the meeting was handed over from the Republic of Algeria to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where the Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Ataf called for a solution to the Arab differences within the Arab House, stressing that the upcoming summit seeks to unite the word to face the challenges in the region.
The Algerian minister stressed the importance of joint Arab action among the Arab countries to face global challenges, and the need to pay attention to the transformations the world is witnessing, praising the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for a cease-fire in Sudan and a solution to the crisis.
During his speech at the preparotary meeting of the Arab Summit, the Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan welcomed the Arab delegations. Bin Farhan stressed that the Arab countries need a joint action for the advancement of the Arab peoples. He also welcomed Syria’s participation in the summit and its return to the Arab League. Observers see the Arab summit’s interest in developments in Sudan as an affirmation of the importance of Sudan on the Arab map. Many challenges and thorny files are awaiting the arrival of Arab leaderships during the launch of the Arab summit on Friday. (SUNA)
